Following a cremation an Interment of Ashes or a Scattering of Ashes (sometimes called Ashes to Rest) ceremony can be held. These ceremonies can be held almost anywhere, although permission may be needed depending on where the ashes are to go. Some families choose to divide the ashes between various family members; each of whom is tasked with scattering the ashes in various places loved by the person who died.
